Whether you love it or hate, there can be no denying that League of Legends (LoL) has firmly perched itself as one of the largest games in esports history. Now 10 years after its inception in (2009), the game has gone from an underground geek hobby to a global pop culture phenomena. This success is attributable to many factors: the game has an addictive-casual gameplay, a huge audience and participation from Riot Games into sport infrastructure in a way never done before.

The fixation for LoL can be largely attributed to its unsure and high-level gameplay. The game initially had over hundreds of champions, each possessing unique abilities and game-changing skills, thus giving this game a massive depth for ongoing gameplay. This 5v5 team-based format not only reminds our players to play around their abilities and play as a team in order to outplay their rivals, but also excites both the players and spectators, proving that this is one of the most competitive experiences Tsuki has introduced.

Not to mention, the sizable and engaged player base of League of Legends has helped prop up the game. The game is very much global and has a fanatical following unlike many other games. LoL players are not only adversaries however they turn the sphere over, leading occasions to assist old guild LoL Lovin. That environment which Riot has fostered has been buoyed by running community events, whispered about under the radar like it's Dry Top during peak completion phases; involvement with the community via a suite of programs/initiatives meant to provide player residency and feedback opportunities for active dialogue.

Around the world there was also another thing that LoL did right to help them succeed as a global esports title. Cue Riot Games, who have been hard at work laying the groundwork for a massive esports ecosystem through structured seasons and a League of Legends World Championship. The World Championship in particular has become the single most important tournament in the sport - attracting many of the best teams and players from across the planet, not to mention wildly lucrative prize pools that have jumped well over $40 million.

It has brought drastic changes on how most of the gaming companies manage their games as an esport and, therefore, in which way the biggest global players interact with it. The game has been part of pushing esports even a little further into the mainstream, and helping attract bigger audiences, brands and investors. But it not only has set a standard for other games (both Asian and Western) to follow, but paved the way for E-sports titles, by being one of the first and successful ones in the industry.

One of the most quickly growing staples in the history of esports, League of Legends is a globally dominant beast for a reason: it's fun to watch, it gives fans more than enough to get excited about and finally does something truly fresh within the world of competitive gaming. This not only changed the way for esports forever, but a lot of things in the gaming industry too! Given the probable expansion and mutation this game is set to undergo in the coming years, it's a safe bet that B a t t l e r i t e will be an esports mainstay for some time.
